What are your hours of operations?

Our border offices are staffed around the clock, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.

How long does it take to change customs brokers?

Implementation is contingent on a number of factors including the nature and complexity of your business, as well as the number of vendors and items imported or exported. A typical transition may take five to ten days, but can be shorter if you have the ability to provide us with your key trade data in an electronic format.

How can we be assured that there will be no disruption to our goods during a switch to Willson?

Unmatched service across borders is not merely a slogan, it’s a guiding philosophy that drives our business. Prior to doing business, we make every effort to gain an understanding of your requirements. Our transition process is a series of steps which are designed to eliminate potential disruptions. When we are confident that we have the required information to process your shipments, we sit down with you to determine a suitable start-up date. Our transition team closely monitors the trade activity of all our new clients after start-up, and responds promptly and pro-actively to any potential issues that may arise. With more than two hundred companies joining Willson International each year, you can be assured that you’re in good hands with Willson.

I'm concerned that drivers will continue to go to my current broker after we've made the change. How can we be sure this wont happen?

Our notice to carriers document is sent to all of your carriers notifying them of your change to Willson International. We’ll also send a letter to your incumbent customs broker advising them of the change.

I have goods on the water now, if I change to you, when would you be ready to start and how would we handle goods already on the water?

In our transition process, we’ll identify which shipments are on route and contact both the incumbent broker and freight forwarder to secure the documentation required to clear the shipment.

What / how do I communicate to my suppliers that I've made a change?

Most importers issue purchase orders indicating “Customs clearance by Willson International” so that their vendors are aware of the change in broker. Additionally, you may wish to send notification via email or letter advising of the change. We would be happy to assist you in the draft of this communication. Contact us now.

Will you notify my carriers that I've made a change?

Yes, our “notification to carriers” is designed to do just that. For more information, review Willson eases the move from your current provider area of the Web site.
