FSVP begins May 30th, Are you Ready?

As we approach an important implementation date of the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA), Willson International would like to provide our clients additional resources to assist with the Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) and the impact it will have on your shipments to the United States.

If you have not yet reviewed the FDA’s final rule on the Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP), please take some time to review the document.  The final rule can be found here.

What information will be needed on May 30th, 2017?

A DUNS number and the buyer or recipient’s FSVP contact name, phone number, and email address.  It is important to note that, for a limited time, the option of ‘UNK’ will be available if the US party does not have a DUNS number.   Also, a DUNS number can be found using the DUNS number lookup tool available here: https://fdadunslookup.com.  The contact name, phone number, and email address will still be required in order to transmit the entry to US Customs and the FDA.

How is the FSVP information sent to Willson International?

For customers utilizing our ShipCheck platform, accommodations have already been made allowing FSVP information to be input and stored within the program.

For companies creating commercial or proforma invoices for shipments, please include the FSVP information on the commercial or proforma invoice.
