Here are some of the activities you will be expected to perform:

Financial Statements:

  • Prepare accurate, timely financial statements.
  • Prepare and post journal entries
  • Analyze financial statements for discrepancies, variances and other issues.
  • Reconcile Balance sheet accounts
  • Review all inter-company transaction

ARL Reconciliation:

  • Reconcile balances in the Daily and Monthly ARL statements.
  • Submits payments to Receiver General on behalf of clients for various customs penalties, late payment fees and Detailed Assessment Statement (DAS)
  • Posts adjusting journal entries to General Ledger for penalties and ARL payments made on behalf of clients
  • Prepares ARL month end reports

Technical Analysis

  • Liaise between Finance and IT, Operations, and external system vendors for system enhancements and testing requirements.

Report Preparation and Analysis

  • Net Revenue Analysis
  • Billing Summary Report
  • Commission Analysis
  • Detailed Customer Analysis

Accounts Receivable:

  • Analyze transactions and perform credit and rebills
  • Verifies account receivable balances and cash receipts transactions.
  • Prepares and posts various adjusting entries related to payments received (from clients) to General Ledger

Accounts Payable:

  • Thorough knowledge in full cycle accounts payable management.
  • Prepares & posts various payments related adjusting entries to the General Ledger
  • Summarizes weekly investigation reports for incorrectly billed invoices for all the Canadian and US branches
  • Analysis of aged payables and prepares adjusting entries as required on monthly basis.

Daily Posting of Invoice Batches:

  • Posts Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable invoice batches from in house Brokerage software (WT) to Accounting software (GP) and Enterprise content management (ECM) portal.
  • All other duties assigned

These are the standards we look for:

  • Pursuing or have attained a CPA designation
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting / general ledger experience
  • Good systems background
  • Strong reporting skills and an analytic mindset.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office Suite of products – Intermediate Excel is required.
  • Microsoft Dynamics GP is an asset.
  • Customs/ Logistics experience a plus.
  • Strong communication skills – verbal and written
  • Attention to detail is a requirement

Customs Brokerage Account Executive – Calgary, AB (and surrounding area)

This position is responsible for obtaining new Customs Brokerage business, and ensuring timely on-boarding of new clients.


Here are some of the activities you will be expected to perform:

  • Independently prospect and search out new sales opportunities.
  • Meet with prospects to determine requirements and whether or not the prospective client is a fit for the Company.
  • Negotiate outcomes which are mutually beneficial.
  • Develop solutions for strategic service issues to gain new business
  • Prepare and present proposals to potential clients

Air/Ocean Release Analyst - Tonawanda, NY

Here are some of the activities you will be expected to perform:

We are looking for an energetic, motivated and customer-focused savvy individual, who is looking for a career.

The Air & Ocean Release Analyst will ensure that air and ocean imports are cleared promptly and efficiently through USA Customs through the coordination of import and export shipping activities necessary to release freight.

Shift: Monday - Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm

Here are some of the activities you will be expected to perform:

  • Strong working knowledge of Customs and Border Protection and Participating Government Agency (PGAs) procedures in both air and ocean environments
  • Various Ports of entry including local and Remote Location Filing (RLF)
  • Experience with Agriculture and Food and Drug Administration is an asset. Examples may include obtaining or reviewing agriculture permits for specific commodities or building a FDA product code, obtaining FDA registration number from a new supplier.
  • Creates and files customs entries; local and via RLF
  • Resolve inland transactions that have moved from the northern border “in-bond”.
  • Maintain broker agent relationships and coordinate release with agent when necessary
  • Track vessels and flights to ensure timely filing of appropriate release documentation
  • Preparation of Deliver Orders when necessary
  • Classification of incoming commodities may be required
  • A high level of customer service is required. Responsible for communication with CBP and PGAs to ensure timely updates are provided to customers
  • Power of Attorney and Sub-POA experience is an asset
  • Importer Security Filing (ISF) and standalone Prior Notice experience is an asset

  • High School Diploma required
  • Minimum 2 years releasing Air & Ocean shipments in a customs brokerage environment
  • Customer Service experience in an office environment
  • Exposure to the Transportation industry an asset
