FDA Announces Surveillance Sampling of Hot Peppers and Cucumbers for 2016

The FDA has announced that they will begin its fiscal year 2016 with a microbiological surveillance sampling program on hot peppers and cucumbers. This sampling agenda will last 12-18 months and 1,600 samples will be collected of each commodity, primarily from imports into the country. Sampling will occur Monday through Thursday each week. They will be monitoring to ensure no single facility is over sampled.
