Cotton Fees set to Increase in November of 2017

The USDA Agricultural marketing service has announced that they plan to increase the fees levied on imports of cotton into the United States.  This direct rule becomes effective November 6th unless ‘significant adverse comment’ is received by October 5th.   Currently, imported cotton is assessed at a rate of $0.011012 per kilogram. This is set to increase to $0.01151 per kilogram, which is an increase of $0.000498 per kilogram.
