Hand Sanitizers regulated by Health Canada

Hand sanitizers are regulated by Health Canada.  Complete and detailed descriptions are required on the customs documents including name of manufacturer, date of manufacture, expiry date, Drug Identification Number (DIN), Natural Product Number (NPN), batch number, lot number, etc.

Antiseptic skin cleansers or hand sanitizers that meet Health Canada’s requirements will have the Natural Product Number (NPN) or Drug Identification Number (DIN) on the product label.

A list of hand sanitizers not approved however are being accepted on a COVID-19 interim basis interim bases is available on the Health Canada website.
