Mandatory Electronic Filing for Hazardous Waste out of the United States
On December 31st, 2017, electronic filing of export information through US Customs AES (Automated Export System) will become mandatory. In the final rule, as published in the Federal Register, the EPA has advised that the paper process will no longer be permitted. The EPA finalized revisions to the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) regulations governing imports and exports of hazardous waste and certain other materials in 40 CFR part 262.
