Section 301 Investigation Initiated against Vietnam

On October 2^nd, the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) initiated a Section 301 Investigation on the trade practices of Vietnam.  In the announcement, the USTR cited both illegally harvested lumber and currency manipulation as injurious to the economy.

This investigation may result in additional duties or restriction on the import of merchandise, specifically wood products, from Vietnam.
