Steel Safeguard Tariff Rate Quotas
This message pertains to imports of certain steel goods as listed in the Order Imposing a Surtax on the Importation of Certain Steel Goods.
The purpose of this message is to inform importers that online shipment-specific permits may only be requested as of 4:00 a.m EST on October 25th, 2018.
Information about the Export and Import Controls System (EICS) hours of operationsÂ
Importers should also note that all quantities requested in shipment-specific permit applications should be specified in kilograms; permits applications for quantities in metric tonnes will be rejected.
Please refer to the updated Notice to Importers, Serial No. 911, and the Frequently Asked Questions for detailed information on which products and countries are covered by the TRQs, how the TRQs will be administered and how to apply for a shipment-specific permit.
