TIME TO RENEW, HELP US HELP YOU
AVOID THE CONSEQUENCES OF LATE USMCA & CUSMA CERTIFICATE RENEWAL
CERTIFICATES ARE DUE BY DECEMBER 1, 2025
As the trade landscape continues to evolve, maintaining compliance with the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) and the Canada-United States-Mexico Agreement (CUSMA) is more critical than ever. To ensure uninterrupted preferential tariff treatment for qualifying goods imported into the United States and Canada, Willson International must have a valid 2026 Certificate of Origin on file at the time of import.
What’s Changing?
All calendar year blanket certificates currently on file will become invalid on January 1, 2026, and will be removed from active status. To allow time for logging, review, and database maintenance, we require all renewed certificates to be submitted by December 1, 2025. Certificates received after December 1 run the risk of an interruption in preferential treatment.
Why It Matters
Submitting your updated certificates on time helps you:
- Avoid paying higher duties in Canada and IEEPA tariffs into the US
- Avoid filing for refunds, paying extra service fees, and waiting an indeterminate time for reimbursement
- Avoid potential increased scrutiny arising from repeat claim filing
- Avoid service disruption and delays at the border due to credit limitations
- Minimize exposure to bond saturation
