Effective August 26, 2025, the Special Economic Measures (Moldova) Regulations were amended to list an additional sixteen (16) individuals and two (2) entities to the Schedule for their role in Russia’s malign interference activities in Moldova. These individuals have actively participated in coordinated efforts aimed at destabilizing the democratically elected government in Moldova. They are associated with politician and businessman Ilan Shor, who has been sanctioned by Canada, and who fled Moldova in 2019. For more information, consult the news release.
The specific prohibitions are set out in Regulations Amending the Special Economic Measures (Moldova) Regulations.
