FDA Final Rule on Antibacterial Washes takes effect September 2017

As a reminder to all companies the ship soap into the United States, products containing any of the 19 ingredients (most commonly triclosan and triclocarban), that are intended for use with water, will no longer be able to be imported into the United States.  This rule follows an investigation that determined manufacturers did not establish they are safe for long term daily use and more effective than plain soap for preventing illness.  This does not affect hand sanitizers, wipes, and antibacterial products used in health care settings.
