FDA Proposes New Confirmation Procedures for US Agent for Foreign Food Facility Registrations

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) proposed a new rule for when a foreign food facility designates a U.S. agent on its initial registration or updates U.S. agent information as part of a general overhaul of food facility registration requirements. FDA would email the U.S. agent using the contact information provided on the registration. FDA would not confirm the foreign facilities registration, and no registration number would be provided, until the U.S. agent confirms that it has agreed to serve in that capacity for the foreign facility.
