House Passes Bill to Increase Agriculture Staffing

The U.S. House of Representatives passed the Protecting America’s Food and Agriculture Act of 2019.  This authorizes U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to hire, train, and assign 240 new agricultural specialists, as well as adding more agriculture technicians and canine teams.  This bill is especially important ahead of the rollout of the APHIS Core program which moves agriculture requirements to the electronic ACE platform this summer.
