In accordance with the Fixing America’s Surface Transportation Act (FAST Act), US Customs fees have increased to coincide with inflation. This increase will impact all importers. Most notable amongst the increases is the increase of Merchandise Processing Fee (MPF).
Previously the minimum MPF on a formal entry was $25.00, but will be increasing to $25.67. The maximum MPF fee was $485.00, but will now increase to $497.99. Informal entry MPF will rise from $2.00 to $2.05. However, the rate of 0.3464% of the total entered value will remain the same.
Please note that these changes will increase fees for trucks, vessels, aircrafts, and rail cars.
