Regulated consumer products that are imported into the US will soon need to have electronic data elements filed from a certificate of compliance with CBP via a PGA message set. Importers are responsible for their product certifications.
There are seven elements that will need to be provided to complete the eFiling of product certificates. Importers should be prepared as early as possible. The CPSC has a product registry setup with participation in a voluntary eFiling stage that may be useful.
