The expiry review investigation been completed and the CBSA has determined that the expiry of the finding is likely to result in the continuation or resumption of dumping of such goods originating in or exported from Chinese Taipei and Germany. The CITT will now conduct an inquiry to determine whether the expiry of its findings is likely to result in injury to the domestic industry.
Tribunal Continues Order—Concrete Reinforcing Bar from China, Korea and Türkiye
The Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) continued its order made on October 14, 2020, in expiry review RR-2019-003, concerning the dumping of concrete reinforcing bar from China, Korea and Türkiye, and the subsidizing of such products from China.
Notice of conclusion of administrative review: Upholstered domestic seating (UDS 2026 UP1)
The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has today concluded an administrative review (review) concerning the amount of subsidy applicable to upholstered domestic seating (UDS) originating in or exporter from the People’s Republic of China (China) by Zhejiang Trayton Co., Ltd. (“Zhejiang Trayton”). The exporter provided a response to the subsidy RFI. However, the Government of China did not provide a response to the subsidy RFI by the deadline of April 2, 2026. The government’s response was received on May 19, 2026, over a month after the due date. Therefore, the amount of subsidy for the subject goods produced or exported from China by Zhejiang Trayton will be determined pursuant to the ministerial specification, under subsection 30.4(2) of SIMA.
Notice of extension of investigations: Unarmoured Building Cables (UBC 2026 IN)
The Canada Border Services Agency has extended the preliminary phase of the investigations respecting the alleged injurious dumping and subsidizing of unarmoured building cables originating in or exported from the People’s Republic of China. due to the complexity or novelty of the issues presented in the investigations and the number of persons involved, the period has been extended to 135 days. The decision to issue preliminary determinations or to terminate the investigations with respect to some or all of the goods will be made on or before July 29, 2026.
Statement of Reasons—Preliminary determinations: Forged Grinding Media (FGM 2026 IN)
Canada Border Services Agency made preliminary determinations on May 25, 2026, respecting the dumping and subsidizing of forged grinding media originating in or exported from the People’s Republic of China. Provisional duty is payable on subject goods that are released from the CBSA during the period commencing May 25, 2026, and ending on the earlier of the day the dumping and/or subsidy investigation is terminated, the day on which the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) makes an order or finding, or the day an undertaking is accepted.
The Canadian International Trade determined that there is a reasonable indication that the dumping and subsidizing of decorative and other non-structural plywood from China have caused injury or are threatening to cause injury to the domestic industry.
