Anti-Dumping Duties – Certain Concrete Reinforcing Bar

On April 3, 2017, the Canada Border Services Agency made a final determination of dumping with respect to certain concrete reinforcing bar originating in or exported from the Republic of Belarus, Chinese Taipei, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China, Japan, the Portuguese Republic and the Kingdom of Spain.

On the basis of the results, CBSA was satisfied that rebar originating in or exported from the named countries has been dumped and that the margins of dumping were not insignificant. Consequently, on April 3, 2017, the CBSA made a final determination of dumping.

The Canadian International Trade Tribunal inquiry into the question of injury to the domestic industry is continuing.

Provisional duties will continue to be imposed on the subject goods until the CITT renders its decision. The CITT has announced that it will issue its finding by May 3, 2017.
