Canadian Export Reporting System (CERS)

Canadian Export Reporting System (CERS)

The Canadian Export Reporting System (CERS) is a free, web-based, self-service portal for submitting electronic export declarations. It will replace the Canadian Automated Export Declaration (CAED) application when Statistics Canada retires it on September, 2020.

Statistics Canada (SC) is retiring CAED due to its aging technology, therefore the CBSA has developed CERS, a web-based, self-service portal that will be available for exporters to continue to complete and transmit electronic export declarations. CERS includes the same data requirements as CAED, including additional functionality allowing an exporter to submit electronic Summary Reporting Program (SRP) reports (of eligible goods).

The CBSA, in partnership with SC, has developed an activation approach to support the transition of CAED users (including Data Loading Module users) and SRP members to CERS. This activation approach only applies to clients that have been actively reporting exports since December 1, 2017.

More information regarding the external on-boarding approach can be found on the CBSA website.  If you have any questions about CERS, please contact the CBSA CERS mailbox.
