CBP Publishes “What Every Member of the Trade Community Should Know: Reasonable Care”

US Customs updated their Informed Compliance Publication covering “Reasonable Care.”  The term reasonable care is means that a good faith effort has been made to ensure that all information provided to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and Partner Government Agencies (PGAs) is accurate and complete.

This publication covers topics such as merchandise description, classification, and forced labor, which is a focal point of the Trade Facilitation and Trade Enforcement Act of 2015 (TFTEA). There is also an article on the CBP website regarding the newly passed forced labor regulations.  We recommend that this ‘Checklist for Compliance’ and CBP article are read by the stakeholders in your supply chain.
