CBP Reports Delays in Processing of Commercial User Fee Payments
This week, U.S. Customs issued CSMS 19-000016 reporting delays in the processing of the annual user fees for commercial vehicles due to the government shutdown. This has caused some commercial conveyances to be flagged as ‘not paid’ when in fact, they have paid. CBP has recommended that commercial operators print a receipt confirming payment when renewing, or purchasing a transponder online. This receipt can then be used as proof of payment when crossing at Ports of Entry.
