The Canada Border Services Agency has amended Customs Notice 26-14 (Certain Canned Goods Surtax Order) specifically regarding the provisional safeguard measure (via a 10% surtax), on certain canned vegetable goods imported into Canada.
For greater certainty, vegetables packaged in glass jars are not subject to the Order; the surtax applies only to the listed canned vegetables (i.e., those packaged in metal cans).
