CFIA – Web Update to Export requirements for Fish and Seafood

Please be advised that the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is in the process of updating its website to harmonize the type of information provided and format used for food export requirements. Where available, information will be provided for each food commodity/destination market combination using the following headings: a) Eligible/Ineligible Product, b) Pre-export approvals by the competent authority of the importing country, c) Product Specifications, d) Production Controls and Inspection Requirements, e) Labelling, Packaging and Marking Requirements, f) Documentation Requirements and g) Other Information.

As part of this initiative, CFIA has updated the requirements for exporting fish and seafood products to the following countries: Algeria, Bahamas, Belarus, Bermuda, Brazil, Chile, China, Colombia, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Egypt, Haiti, Indonesia, Israel, Japan, Hong Kong, Macao, and Malaysia.  This information is available on the CFIA website.
