Consultation on proposed changes to the Beef grade requirements

On March 3, 2026, the Canadian Beef Grading Agency (CBGA) launched a public consultation on proposed changes to the Beef grade requirements. To learn more about the proposed changes and provide your comments, visit Posted For Public Comment | Canadian Beef Grading Agency

Existing grade requirements are outlined in Beef, Bison, and Veal Carcass Grade Requirements (PDF), an external document prepared by the CBGA and incorporated by reference into the Safe Food for Canadians Regulations (SFCR).

The public consultation runs from March 3, 2026 to April 3, 2026. All stakeholders are encouraged to review the proposed changes and submit their comments.
