Provisional Duties payable on Certain Silicon Metal

Silicon Metal – Notice of Preliminary Determinations – JULY 05 2017

On July 5, 2017, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) made a preliminary determination of dumping with respect to certain silicon metal originating in or exported from the Federative Republic of Brazil (Brazil), the Republic of Kazakhstan (Kazakhstan), Lao People’s Democratic Republic (Laos), Malaysia, the Kingdom of Norway (Norway) and the Kingdom of Thailand (Thailand), and made a preliminary determination of subsidizing with respect to certain silicon metal originating in or exported from Brazil, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Norway and Thailand.  On the same date, the President of the Canada Border Services Agency terminated the dumping investigation in respect of the above mentioned goods originating in or exported from the Russian Federation.

Provisional duties will now be payable on the subject goods that are released from customs on or after July 5, 2017.
