Recall procedure: A guide for food businesses

The following is provided by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.

As you may already be aware, the document, Recall procedure: A guide for food businesses, is now available.  This guidance is a step-by-step approach that food businesses can use to help prepare their recall procedures to carry out effective recalls. It also includes a revised notice of recall template that food businesses may wish to use to notify their clients in the event of a food recall.  This procedure can be followed by all food businesses, irrespective of whether they are manufacturers, distributors, importers or retailers.

Please note that this procedure replaces the four previous recall plans on the CFIA’s website that were specific to manufacturers, distributors, retailers and importers.
