The Government of Canada has announced that two news conferences will take place on June 29 to present the final list of Canadian retaliatory tariffs. As well, it is expected that an announcement will also be made regarding a financial aid package for affected industries.
The official announcement states:
June 28, 2018 – The Honourable Chrystia Freeland, Minister of Foreign Affairs; the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development; and the Honourable Patty Hajdu, Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Labour, will make an announcement regarding Canada’s response to steel and aluminum tariffs imposed by the United States. A media availability will follow.
