This week, President Trump was asked if he would be interested in lifting, even temporarily, the Section 232 and/or the 301 tariffs amid the coronavirus crisis. He responded, “China is paying us billions and billions of dollars in tariffs and there’s no reason to do that.â€Â This was prompted by a letter from business and trade groups asking for this to be added to a relief bill.
