Recent reports have correctly stated that surtax on certain goods will continue to apply on goods released up to and including on April 28th 2019. However, the CITT made recommendations only regarding the application of surtax and the government may choose not to follow these recommendations. That is, there is no guarantee that the surtax will cease to apply on April 29th.
