On January 22, US Trade Representative Lighthizer announced plans for increased tariffs on large residential washing machines and solar energy cells entering the United States. These changes will result in the establishment of a tariff-rate quota on washing machines and a “safeguard†tariff on solar energy cells. The changes are scheduled to take effect FEB 07 2018.
