The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has published an update for stakeholders regarding the implementation of the Feeds Regulations, 2024.
The temporary transition period that allowed “proof of exemption” for Part I single ingredient feeds (SIFs) will end on July 20, 2026.
In most cases, imported livestock feed, including SIFs listed in Part I of the Canadian Feed Ingredients Table (CFIT), must now be:
- registered, or
- imported by a license holder
Stakeholders are encouraged to review the full notice and ensure compliance by July 20, 2026.
