Anti-Dumping Duties

Certain Aluminum Extrusions – Notice of Expiry Review Decision

On March 8, 2019, the Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) initiated an expiry review of its order concerning the dumping and subsidizing of certain aluminum extrusions originating in or exported from the People’s Republic of China (China).

As a result of the CITT’s expiry review, on March 11, 2019, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) initiated an expiry review investigation to determine whether the expiry of the order is likely to result in the continuation or resumption of dumping and/or subsidizing of the goods.

The investigation has now been completed and today the CBSA has determined, that the expiry of the order concerning the dumping and subsidizing of certain aluminum extrusions originating in or exported from China is likely to result in the continuation or resumption of dumping and subsidizing of the goods exported into Canada.

The CITT will now conduct an inquiry to determine whether the expiry of its order is likely to result in injury to the Canadian industry. The CITT has announced that it will issue its decision by January 13, 2020.
