China 301 Duty Update – Changes to tariff Lists and Effective Dates!

The U.S. Trade Representative released a modified version of the next round of China tariffs imposed by the United States.  This list, which was previously referred to as ‘List 4,’ has now been separated into two lists.

List 4a is scheduled to become effective on September 1st, 2019 at a rate of 10 percent.  This list covers such commodities as food, beverages, chemicals, food contact items such as utensils and glasses, and textile goods including footwear, clothing and bedding.

List 4b is scheduled to become effective December 15th, 2019 at a rate of 10 percent as well.  This list covers many similar items such as food, chemicals, plastic and rubber articles, clothing, footwear, tableware and some electronics.

If your company ships China origin goods to the U.S. we recommend you follow the links to the tariff lists and check your tariff classification numbers for potential impact.
