U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has issued guidance on updates to the Section 338 duties applicable to certain products of Canada entered for consumption, or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption, on or after October 30, 2026. The changes remove certain HTS classifications from the 50% additional duty provisions while adding approximately 100 HTS classifications that are now subject to the Section 338 duties.
Importers should review the updated HTS classifications to determine whether their products are impacted by these changes and ensure the correct duty treatment is applied at entry.
