New York Congressmen urge CBP to Reduce Processing Times on the Northern Border

Western New York Congressmen Brian Higgins (D) and Chris Collins (R) sent a letter to Secretary John Kelly and Acting Commissioner Kevin McAleenan urging US Customs to speed up the truck processing along the northern border.  In this letter, Higgins and Collins support the BorderWizard Simulation Study that promotes two protocols: mandatory e-manifest filing for empty trucks and mandatory transponder payment for border use fees.  These study shows that these changes would reduce wait time by and 75 and 90 seconds, respectively.
