Reminder: Goods must be exported timely when AES is filed

US Customs has been enforcing penalties on exports that were not completed timely and in accordance with the date of export within the AES filing. Penalties will be issued if the cargo is exported prior to the export date specified on the transmission if the commodity is a self-propelled vehicle. Penalties will also be issued if the goods are exported five (5) or more days after the reported date of export. Please ensure that the date of export sent to the AES filer is correct and communicate with the carrier so the move is timely. Please follow the link to the Guidance on Date of Export Foreign Trade Regulations Penalties.
