U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has established a webpage with statistical information on the previous two fiscal years. This page shows year over year revenue collections, trade remedy duty assessments, and trade enforcement. Outside of the staggering trade remedy duty assessments, the trade enforcement section highlights CBP’s continuing focus on revenue generation. The year over year numbers show increases in audits and trade penalties issued. As we move into the future, it is important to recognize that the trade and CBP continue to evolve. Therefore, both resident and non-resident importers must also remain current.
