CSMS message 18-000124 was issued this week announcing the end of US Customs ‘informed compliance approach’ to the Seafood Import Monitoring Program of the National Marine Fisheries Program. Previously, US Customs was allowing the release of goods with incomplete information. However, beginning April 7th, 2018, ‘may proceed’ notifications will not be issued without all of the proper information.
