USDA proposes Eliminating Restrictions on Christmas Tree Importations

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Agency (APHIS) has proposed to “eliminate the restrictions that apply to the importation of PSB (Pine Shoot Beetle) host material from Canada.”  This proposal also would “remove PSB-related interstate movement and importation restrictions on PSB regulated articles.”

This proposal would eliminate “Subpart G—Pine Shoot Beetle” in 7 CFR part 301 which would theoretically boost sales and yield cost saving opportunities by eliminating the current regulations that include quarantine.
